Every story starts with a conversation. Here’s what to expect when you share yours.
I want to tell my story, but I don’t have the time. Can a ghostwriter really help with that?
Yes. Most of my clients are busy professionals who couldn’t possibly add “write a book” to their schedule. Some clients have the time but don’t know where to start. Still others have a message or story to share, but writing just isn’t their thing.
My process is built around guided conversations — you speak, I listen and write. With a few focused interviews, I can capture your story, voice, and message without disrupting your routine.
I work around your schedule and your preferred method of interviews. Some clients prefer calls, while others want a list of questions and they dictate answers, preserving the natural flow, tone, and cadence so each book I write sounds like you.
How much time will this take from me?
Typically, clients spend 6–8 hours total in interviews scheduled in 30–45-minute increments and a few short review sessions per phase. Some clients ask me to interview people in their lives to capture a more well-rounded story. Up to you.
My goal is to make the process feel spacious and structured — never rushed or overwhelming.
What if my story feels too emotional or personal to revisit?
That’s completely normal. Many stories worth telling come with emotional weight. I create space for reflection, not pressure or discomfort. One of my clients actually described the process as feeling like “good therapy.”
You decide what’s shared and what stays private. I’ll guide you through that balance gently and professionally.
How do you make sure my story still sounds like me?
Voice is everything. Through conversation, transcription, and close listening, I write in your rhythm and tone. You’ll review each section and give feedback until it feels like your best self on the page. The goal is that people closest to you would never guess someone else wrote the book.
I’m not a writer. How do I know my story will be told well?
That’s exactly why ghostwriting exists. You bring the experience and ideas; I bring the structure, narrative craft, and publishing expertise. Together, we’ll turn what you know into something readers can feel and remember.
We are a team in the writing process. To use an example from my sons’ baseball years, you’re the pitcher and I’m the catcher. My job is to frame your pitch in a way that makes it look like a strike every time. And like the catcher, there are times when I will make suggestions to you on the best way to ensure success. And when I do my job well, you look like the superstar you are.
Do I have to have everything organized before we start?
Not at all. You don’t need a manuscript or even an outline. You just need the desire to share your story or message. We’ll start with a few conversations to uncover your themes, turning points, and goals — and from there, I’ll handle the organization and writing.
What if I need to pause or take a break during the process?
That’s completely fine. Life happens, and creative work sometimes needs space. We’ll build a flexible schedule and communicate clearly about timelines so you always feel supported, not rushed.
How private is this process?
Completely. Every project is covered by a confidentiality agreement. Nothing is shared publicly or used in my portfolio without your written permission.
You own your story — always.
Do you work with difficult or sensitive stories?
Yes. Many of my clients are writing through moments of change, challenge, or loss. I approach those stories with respect and emotional intelligence. Some clients share stories they don’t want included in print — they tell me so I can understand the backstory without exposing private details.
Some are celebrating successes and working to teach the process to others. They simply don’t want that messaging shared before they’re ready.
My job is to help you find clarity and meaning, not to sensationalize pain or bring your message to the world prematurely.
What happens once the manuscript is finished?
You’ll receive a professionally written and fully edited electronic manuscript — ready to share with a book designer for cover design and formatting.
From there, I can guide you through next steps, whether that means exploring self-publishing or preparing to approach a literary agent for traditional publication.
While publishing decisions and execution are yours, you’ll finish our work together with a manuscript that’s complete, professional, and ready for the world.
How do I know if I’m ready to begin?
If your story has been whispering to you for a while, you’re ready. You don’t need perfect clarity, just curiosity and a willingness to start the conversation. Every book begins there.
How do we get started?
We begin with a 30-minute discovery call. We’ll talk about your goals, your story, and what kind of collaboration feels right for you. There’s no pressure — just a chance to explore whether now is the right time, and I’m the right partner.
